This award for excellence in public relations recognizes a PRSA|GA member who has demonstrated significant leadership and contributions to the profession of public relations. The nominee also must be consistently active in PRSA|GA and a Chapter member of at least seven years. The nominee’s 20+ years of experience excludes internships or part-time employment while working on a degree. (The current Chapter president and immediate past president are not eligible for this award.)

Renee Kopkowski, Mars Chocolate North America & Mars Global Chocolate

Renee Kopkowski’s career in strategic communications covers the gamut of Internal Communications, Public Relations, Crisis Planning, Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Media. She’s had the pleasure of working in agency, corporate and nonprofit settings.

Currently, Ms. Kopkowski leads Corporate Affairs for Mars Chocolate North America, the $3.2 B organization that manufactures and markets six of the country’s top 10 chocolate brands, including M&M’S®, SNICKERS®, TWIX®, DOVE®, 3 MUSKETEERS, and MILKY WAY®. Prior to that, she was co-owner of Wonder Public Relations, a boutique communications agency based near Atlanta, Georgia. Her early career included television news, as well as Media Relations and Internal Communications for two large hospital systems in Florida and Georgia. She is actively involved in PRSA and is the former President of PRSA|GA, the nation’s second-largest PRSA chapter.

Ms. Kopkowski lives in Marietta, Georgia with her husband and two children.
